OKC Cuz' Comes to Visit!

We had guests over the weekend. OKC Cuz' and her family came to visit for the Easter holiday. Hannah loved having her cousin DB to play with. He's only 8 months older than she is and they are so cute together. Finally, a boy that is articulate as she is! I just loved listening to their little conversations. And the oldest cousin, who's nine (and a half), was like a built in babysitter for Faith. Faith soaked up all the attention.

While our house is not small, it is not set up well for entertaining. Four extra people made it feel like it was about to bust at the seams. But it is nice to be with family. All four kids slept in our girls' room. Believe it or not they did sleep too. Of course if you keep your kids up 'til 1 a.m. they tend to sleep well when you finally put them in bed :)

We dyed 2 1/2 dozen Easter eggs, something OKC Cuz's kids had never done before. Can you believe that? Then we took them to my parents house for an Easter egg hunt. The Easter bunny found even found the Oklahoma cousins all the way up here in Missouri! They got up on Easter morning to find their baskets brimming with jelly beans and chocolate eggs.

We adults found some time to talk and catch up too. For once we didn't eat too much. (We like our family get-togethers with a generous helping of food.) Then on Sunday morning we all got up early for church. I LOVE going to church and seeing the pew full with my family. It was a good service. Our Pastor is in Israel right now, so a fellow professor from the seminary came to fill in.

Alas, the weekend has come to an end and now they are back home in Oklahoma. I can't wait until we see each other again. I guess it's our turn to head to Oklahoma.

Note: The last time we went to Oklahoma, Hannah kept asking why they live at Home Depot. :) She has since made the distinction between the store and the state.

Sounds like a great weekend!

We had a nice Easter too. We found out that Lydia must not be allergic to peanut butter, because we caught her with swiped Reeses' a few times. And she had her first lollipop at an egg hunt on Saturday. You should have seen her grin to realize that such yumminess came on a stick like that!

We had sooooo much fun!! Yes, I had denied my children the traditional, Easter egg coloring, rite of passage. Until now, it was a lot of fun and Cousin Dreamer did all the work!! We even had one of the Dad's in there coloring eggs. The weekend went by way too fast. You all owe us a visit to OKC. Did you get the pics I sent? They turned out so cute! Love You!!

The funniest part of the whole weekend was OKC Cuz' drinking coffee by the bowl! (She used my soup mug for a coffee mug.)

Yes we got the pictures, OKC Cuz', thanks!
